PLANT TOUR Our most recent Chapter event was on October 18^th and consisted of an impressive tour of the Standard Iron Facility in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

 The folks at Standard Iron treated us very well during our tour time. To start with, a section of their parking lot was divided off just for our tour attendees. We then signed in and assembled in the employee lunch room. Plant Manager Greg Waletzko welcomed everyone and then introduced two of the Standard Iron owners, Bill and Joe Demeules who gave a brief history of this contract manufacturing company from its beginning in 1930 to what it has become today.

 Our rather sizable group of 48 attendees divided into four groups to tour the Standard Iron powder coating operation which was in full production as we toured. After our tour and a question and answer time, pizza and soft drinks were the order of the day. Special thanks to our Standard Iron hosts for their hospitality and a really fine plant tour.

 CHAPTER AWARDS The TC Chapter recognized the special efforts and contributions of four members. Chuck Klammer was honored as “User of The Year” (2006-07). Chuck is President of Associated Finishing, Inc (AFI) in Mankato, MN and has headed up AFI since 1976. Chuck is very active with the CCAI with AFI as a custom coater member. Chuck is also a past president of the TC Chapter.

 Also honored and receiving award plaques were Doug Van Duyne as past Chapter President for the last two years. Roger Nelsen and Phil Ruggiero were honored and recognized for their many years of service to the TC-CCAI organization. They are now both lifetime honorary members of the CCAI. Among their other CCAI accomplishments, Roger and Phil have each served as Chapter President.

POT of MONEY DRAWING Membership chairman Jim Henningsen conducted the cash drawing for a TC Chapter member present at our meeting. The name of Ron Jensen of Nordic Ware was drawn. In that Ron was NOT present our Pot of Money goes up to $75.00 for our November meeting.

 NEW MEMBERS Two new members were present at the Standard Iron tour and as this was their first regular meeting event since joining, each new member was the guest of our Chapter and the event was on a no charge basis for them.

 Welcome to Kevin Sundlin of Mid-Minnesota Wire, Stan Kaufmann of Diamond Vogel & Tony Rogers of Protech.

 ALSO PRESENT Duane Fudge who is current President of the Middle Atlantic CCAI Chapter and is also a member of the CCAI National Board of Directors was present at the tour.
