Dinner Meeting

U.V. curable coatings have been the promised land of paint for many applications for some time.  Like many journeys, the trail for U.V. curable
has been slow.  Slow it may have been, but U.V. is now coming into its own and this panel discussion will update us on the state of the technology
both from a formulation aspect and from an equipment view.

About the Presenters:

Todd Weiss is a Technical Manager for Valspar.  Todd is a Chemical Engineer with 15 years of direct UV formulation experience

Walt Blatter is also a Technical Manager for Valspar.  He has 24 years of finishing experience.  Walt is a graduate of North Dakota State where
he studied Chemistry and Paint Technology.  He is currently overseeing new technology development for Valspar.

Kevin Joesel is the Director, Industrial Coatings Market for Fusion UV Systems and has global responsibility for managing and supporting Fusion’s
efforts in UV applications.  He holds a degree in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University and is a Board member for Rad Tech International.

Bill Tongen is also with Fusion UV and brings his extensive background in drives, systems and integrated controls to the discussion

JAN 15^th UV CURE PANEL DISCUSSION

Our Chapter dinner meeting event for January was a presentation by three experts in the field of UV cure liquid and powder coatings. The presenters
for the evening were Todd Weiss and Walt Blatter of Valspar with Kevin Joesel of Fusion UV Systems. We received basic information as well as some
detailed facts as to UV coating basics. Following was a presentation as to the type of UV equipment required to properly cure liquid and powder
coatings on metal and wood.
