TWIN CITIES CHAPTER CCAI
ADC Telecom Plant Tour
Thursday, April 16, 2009
Afternoon Tour (1:30PM)
ADC has been a company in transition.
CCAI first toured the Shakopee facility 10 years ago.
Since that time they have been a company in transition and in many ways,
have had to face the problems of the changing economy ahead of much of the
manufacturing sector. This
tour will be an opportunity to see how a progressive company
changes and how its coatings processes reflect those changes.

40 ATTEND TOUR
OF ADC\
On April 16th,
40 TC-CCAI members and non-members toured the manufacturing facility of ADC in
Shakopee, MN. The Director of Operations, Jerry Cash opened with a detailed
presentation on ADC featuring the ADC successes through a recently initiated
LEAN/SIGMA manufacturing program. Jerry shared some of the actual cost savings
and avoidance savings currently realized at ADC as a result of the LEAN/SIGMA
programs.
Our ADC tour
host was Steve Miller, Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. In addition to going through
the powder coating operation, the tour covered many of the other ADC operations
in the 360,000 square foot building - which included machining, stampings, sheet
metal and fiber optic departments
Thank you to
the ADC Team for a the detailed and well planned tour.
